In recent years, cake decorating has become a popular activity in the region, not only for professional cake businesses but also among the wider public as a leisure activity for children and adults. Sugarcrafting using sugar paste has become wildly popular because sugar paste is easy to store and its craft and creation tastes good! The three principals of Artistiq Sugarcraft are experienced bakers and cake decorators. Having learnt many techniques over the years, they have gravitated towards Sugarcraft and when they met, they became fast friends. Their passion and skills spurred each other on to greater heights but the options in Singapore were limited, in terms of training and tools available. Training in cake decorating currently available in Singapore is either very basic for beginners or very advanced for professionals.

Unsatisfied with the status quo, the principals sought to improve their skills by going overseas – travelling all the way to UK – to acquire professional skills and certification to teach Sugarcraft. They even sought out regional instructors to learn specific techniques of interest. Sensing a pent-up demand in Singapore, they formed Artistiq Sugarcraft to share their knowledge and skills. Artistiq Sugarcraft is founded not only aim to bridge the gap in cake decorating instruction, it also aim to ignite the cake-decorating scene in Singapore with the principals' Passion, Skill and Creativity.
